Basics:
- use combination of raised dots to represent letter, number, punctuation marks
- Each Braille character or cell is made up of six dots, arranged in two column of three dots each
Grade: different grade vary in complexity
- Grade 1: straight forward representation, represent single letter, number or mark
- Grade 2: more advanced and commonly used form. Include contractions (abbreviation)

- Grade 3: more personal, mainly used for personal note-taking
